Brí Leith - The Entrance to Midir's Sidhe Kingdom

Above Website Artwork
Created for the website Brí Leith Café, this is a digital illustration depicting the entrance to the fairy/sidhe world that is said to be at the foot of Brí Leith Hill in Ardagh, Co. Longford. The cranes represent Midhir, the Sidhe King and the Dragonfly in the stain-glass window above the door represents the love of his life, Etáin, who is transformed into this creature in the local legend. This piece was drawn, scanned in and digitally coloured with magic in Photoshop.
